Commercial Driving Preparation - Passenger

Course Content and Deliverables

This course provides targeted resources and focused instruction to ensure every student is fully prepared to pass their written permit examination:

• Mandated ELDT Access: Students receive dedicated access to the federally mandated Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) online materials. Completion of the ELDT theory component is a non-negotiable requirement of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) prior to taking the CDL skills test.

• Permit Readiness: Students receive guided instruction and final preparation for the written CDL permit exam, covering all necessary sections (General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Combinations, etc.).

• Administrative Compliance: Students are provided with the required official medical examination forms and directed on how to obtain their necessary drug test and medical certification (Med Card) prior to moving to the driving phase.

• Driving Simulators: The course includes enhanced, dedicated time on our driving simulators. This allows students to practice vehicle maneuvering, shifting techniques, and basic safety procedures in a controlled environment, building muscle memory and confidence before moving to the actual training truck.

• Final Preparation: The module concludes with final preparation, review sessions, and practice quizzes to ensure all theoretical knowledge is mastered before the student attempts the official CDL Permit exam.

Note: Successful completion of this module and obtaining the CDL Permit are mandatory prerequisites for enrolling in the CDL Driving Lab (Module 3).
